Finance Director

Job Summary

The Finance Director is responsible for all activities related to the planning, execution, control and evaluation of Channel One’s accounting, financial and IT functions. This includes the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, preparation of budget, operating and financial statements, and reconciliation of accounts, AR/AP functions, fixed assets and depreciation, and may include payroll.

The Finance Director is also responsible for the management of all aspects of the organization’s IT system, including hardware, software, networks, email administration, and security, and provides technical assistance and training to staff as needed.

As part of the senior management team, participates in the strategic planning process.

Skills, Education and Experience

• Commitment to understanding and supporting Channel One’s mission.

• Four Year Degree in Accounting, Finance or Related Area. .
• Experience in oversight of IT Administration.
• Non-profit Finance/Accounting experience preferred.
• Strong business acumen.
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Proficient in Power Point, Excel, Access, Outlook Word etc.
• Navision financial management software preferred
• Experience with contract management and budget preparation
• Strong organization and written and oral communication skills.

Communication and Development Director

Classification: Full-time, exempt

Accountability: Reports to Executive Director  

JOB SUMMARY  

To develop, organize, promote, implement, evaluate, and expand all special events and philanthropic support for Channel One Inc.; to manage all components of the agency’s fundraising plans, including, but not limited to: annual giving, planned giving, major individual and corporate gifts, and special fundraising events. Be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of the communications and public relations program, coordinate all media relations, and build awareness of Channel One’s mission, programs, and achievements. As part of the senior management team, participates in the strategic planning process.  

SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Qualifications  

• Bachelor’s degree plus one to three years of communication/development-related experience
• Nonprofit human service experience a plus
• Strong interpersonal/relationship building skills
• Positive attitude and ability to manage multiple projects
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Creative
• Attention to detail
• Proficiency in computer use – Windows/MS Office
• Desktop publishing and computer experience
• Able to work with people of diverse backgrounds
• Supervisory experience needed

Preferred Skills

• Experienced and well-rounded communications and fundraising skills.
• Experience with Quark Xpress, Dreamweaver and donor management software.
